Cayenne Pepper also known as the Guinea spice have been used to help treat health problems for thousands of years. I love Cayenne Pepper and use it nearly every day for better taste, and a bit of a kick and boost to my metabolism.
You’ll find Cayenne Pepper benefits below.
It May Boost Your Metabolism
As I just mention, it may boost your metabolism due to component called capsaicin. Capsaicin raises your body’s temperature and causes a boost in metabolism.
It May Aid Digestive Health
Cayenne Pepper may help boost stomach’s defence against infections, increase digestive fluid production and help deliver enzymes to the stomach, aiding digestion.
It Can Help Reduce Hunger
Interestingly, Cayenne Pepper may reduce your hunger, helping you eat less and feel fuller for longer due to just mentioned capsaicin. One study showed that it reduces the production of the hunger hormone ghrelin.
It May Lower Blood Pressure
Again, due to capsaicin in Cayenne Pepper your high blood pressure may be reduced.
IT May Help Relieve Pain
Previously mentioned capsaicin component may have pain-relieving properties, when applied to the skin in a cream. This happens because capsaicin help reduces hormones produced by the body that travels to the brain to signal pain.
It could help you with following conditions:
- Lower back pain
- Joint and muscle pain
- Pain after surgery
- Pain from nerve conditions like shingles
It’s important to note that capsaicin cream should not be applied to an open wound or broken skin.
Very Easy to Add to Your Diet
Cayenne Pepper is easy to incorporate into your diet. It comes in different forms, including as a whole food, spice and supplement.
I normally use it in a form of spice. I add it to my breakfast, my apple cider vinegar, chocolate and many more.
It’s quite spicy so make sure not to sprinkle too much especially if you never used it before :).
Experiment, and have fun!!
